One of my favourite spots in France is in the South West corner, close to the border with Spain. It is picturesque Collioure, whose bays and terraced buildings just beg to be photographed.
Collioure’s beauty was recognised by the many artists that stayed here, including Matisse, Braque and Picasso. To help the budding artist or photographer, several empty golden frames have been placed around the bay, so that the idyllic view appears as if a painting.
This post is a response to the CBBH White Rabbit Challenge. This month’s challenge is “framed”.
In accordance with the rules of this monthly challenge, here are two of my favourite blogs of last month:
Rarasaur for an illuminating, varied and amusing blog, and especially for her post on learning languages that I reblogged a little while ago;
and,
A Nature Mom for her beautiful photos and tips on where and how to hike with the kids.

The golden frame idea is inspired! Looks like a lovely place, Debbie.

I am a committed Francophile and can’t stop taking photos when we are there. Collioure is a town I need to add to my list the next time I am in that part of the country. I love the idea of the gold frames around town enticing the eye to appreciate the views beyond. Brilliant!

I can see why Collioure is such a favourite of yours to visit. Your photos are delightful, Debbie 🙂
Thanks for sharing links to two blogs you enjoy visiting. I don’t know either of these ladies, so it will be a pleasure to HOP over to them right away.
Great entry for this month’s challenge – well done!
