I am a big fan of the cafe / bookshop combination so I was delighted to come across “Cup of Tea” on my wanderings around Marseille. This welcoming spot is perfectly situated at the lower edge of the Panier district, just opposite the Accoules steps. Stop here for a spot of breakfast before heading off to wander the narrow streets.
The cafe sells a vast range of teas, plus coffee, cold drinks and light meals. It is more than a cafe, as the decorated shutters indicate:
Inside is a small bookshop with an eclectic selection of books.
I thoroughly recommend the home made iced tea, slightly sweetened with honey. Delicious!
