Bulgarian mural

Veliko Tarnovo (Велико Търново) is one of the oldest settlements in Bulgaria, dating back over five millennia.

Traces of human presence dating from the 3rd millennium BC have been found there, it was capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire and it is where  Tsar Ferdinand Saxe-Coburg Gotha chose  to declare the complete independence of Bulgaria on 5 October 1908.

It is a beautiful town, in a stunning setting overlooking the Yantra River.  This mural is equally striking.
