Pumpkins are a much loved member of the squash family, Cucurbitaceae.
There are actually only four species of squash but many cultivated varieties have been bred from these four. Here is a multi-coloured collection to brighten your day. If one takes your fancy, just hover over the picture to discover its name.

There are so many beautiful pumpkins around that I have decided to have a Pumpkin Week this week. Watch this space each day for a pumpkin-related post.
Today’s pumpkin post is linked to Pixelventures’ Harvest, Two Cents’ Harvest and Mosaic Monday.

They are gorgeous. 🙂 I especially love the white ones. Actually, I’ve always loved the white ones and the French le poteron pumpkins. I think those are my favourites.
