Beyond this fence lies the Royal Palace in Madrid. After enjoying the view from here for a while, I eventually tracked down the entrance and went inside. And oh, was it worth it!

Good to know… I went inside Buckingham Palace once, and it was a disappointment. Growing up in the vicinity of Bavarian castles and cathedrals makes everything else look a bit bland…

I enjoyed this more than Buckingham Palace, a bit more eccentric. I think you’d find it more akin to Bavarian excess!

Well, we did have this mad king who bankrupted the state with his extravagances at the time. No doubt it’s been recouped a thousand times over since then through all the tourism it attracts…
