–Six Word Saturday
This statue of Livingstone features him holding out a Bible, with a pistol and compass at his waist and a cast off lion skin representing him having survived a mauling. It was sculpted by Amelia Paton Hill, (1820 – 1904) one of the few women sculptors in 19th century Edinburgh at that time.

I never saw this while in Edinburgh….or if I did I didn’t realize who this was! Cheers!

Interesting perspective with the gun and the Bible.

I gotta get out more. The only local statue we have locally worth mentioning is a six-foot long rainbow trout outside the county’s municipal building.

That’s a beauty. I’ve only seen it from the top of a bus, and your photos give a much better view.
