Curvy Sign at Park Güell

IMG_1469

This curvy, mosaic sign stands outside Park Güell in Barcelona.

This park was initially intended to be an up-market housing estate designed by  Antoni Gaudí.  it’s hilly nature allowed Gaudí to design some fantastic paths and viaducts to link teh different levels.  Sadly, though, sales didn’t go well and only 2 houses of the 60 planned were ever built.  When the entrepreneur behind the scheme, Eusebi Güell, died in 1918, his heirs offered the park to the City Council, and it became a municipal park.

It should be on every visitor’s to do list!
