Place des Vosges is the oldest, and possible the most beautiful, square in Paris. The Place Royal, as it was initially known, was constructed in 1605. After the Revolution it underwent several name changes, eventually becoming Place des Vosges in 1800.
it is well worth a visit – relax in the huge central open space, or wander in the shade of the surrounding arcades.

Enchanting arched walkway. Almost like a cloister of an abbey. The red man seems a little out of place but noticeable in this olde worlde.

The architecture is beautiful and stately. I liked the contrast!

What’s the purpose of this red inflatable man? Great shot and place.

He just seems to be advertising the shop which sold various modern art pieces.
