Grande Arche and Smaller Arch

If you’re not at La Défense for a business meeting you are probably there to see the huge, cube-like Grande Arche.  Sadly, you can’t go up the arch any more, for safety reasons, but you can admire it from below.

If you walk from there, past the shopping centre, towards the Arc de Triomphe, you’ll come to a smaller, curvier arch.

Minimalism at La Defense

It is not as awe-inspiring, but it does make a wonderful contrast with the surrounding angular buildings.

  1. That’s a smashing shot, Debbie. The dark arch reflections and contrasts with glass building in the background – wonderful. It works great both for minimalism and elegance 🙂
