These famous faces and characters are brought to life for us by Edward Carvalho-Monaghan and, believe it or not, they are decorating a miniature bus.
2014 has been the Year of the Bus and to mark that, a parade of bus statues (all new routemasters as far as I can tell) has appeared around London. They didn’t arrive until late October and the fourth and final trail only starts today, 8 December, in Croydon. Details and maps of all four trails are available on the TFL website.
As is the way with these art parades, the buses have been decorated by well-known and up-and-coming artists and each piece will be auctioned at the end of the display to raise funds for charity.

This particular bus is entitled Route Masters with each master representing a place of interest in London. What is more, the colour of the character supposedly tells you which bus to use to visit that place. But as buses aren’t associated with colours in the same way as the underground, the colour coding doesn’t help me at all.

That’s a wonderful concept and a great fundraising idea. Hope they get a lot for the artwork.

I’m assuming it will be online. Not sure though. If I was going to bid I think I’d go for the other current parade – Paddingtons – post coming in a few days.

Doesn’t really have the cute factor of cows, elephants and bears. But many of the buses in good spots to enjoy the surrounding views whilst enjoying the art.
