Concentration is my motto – first honesty, then industry, then concentration. –
Andrew Carnegie

I had a great travelling 2014. One of my favourite memories is the photo workshop I attended in Venice. Just for once, I was on a trip without work commitments: it was all my own time, time to make new friends, learn new skills and explore. While I was enjoying myself outdoors, many others were working hard. Here is a small selection of images of industry Venice-style.

It is lovely to see some very different perspectives of Venice.

It’s easy to get sucked into all the traditional beautiful shots, and reflections.

Me too. I’d like to visit in winter next time I think, so maybe early 2016.

I particularly liked the “Industry on temporary hiatus”.
Aside from the humor which I always enjoy, I like the color, the aging of everything, and the framing of the shot – all makes for a very interesting and pleasant pic.
Happy New Year.

Interesting series of photos. The little blue boat in the 3rd photo is beautifully weathered. Lots of character.

I love Venice. Who taught the photo workshop? Was it a good way to travel and worth the cost? I have been considering taking one somewhere but the fees seem high for some. Thanks.

I should have put a link to my post on the workshop: https://travelwithintent.com/2014/08/07/venice-dawn-workshop-anthony-epes/ It was excellent, though not cheap. I have since been on one of his London walks and have booked for Istanbul in April.

I am so glad you sent the information. I check out the site. And I am actually considering the Istanbul one. Istanbul was on my trip list for this year and this might be an excellent way to see it. I do hate morning though. 🙂

I’m not a morning person either 😉 I went to Istanbul on business this year and in the bit of spare time I had I fell in love with the place. It is an amazing city. Let me know if you decide to book.

Debbie, believe it or not, I decided to go to Istanbul for the class. I am excited. I actually made my travel plans today because I am headed to Sri Lanka on Jan 17 and I wanted to make sure I did it before I left. I’m not staying at the hotel they recommended. I wanted something closer to the major attractions. It will be lovely to meet you in April. Thanks so much for introducing me to this opportunity. Marie

Hi Marie. How wonderful! I’m staying in the recommended hotel but then I’m staying on for a few days after and will move hotel. Though I haven’t chosen one yet. I’ll want to hear all about Sri Lanka as my daughter is volunteering there this summer. I’m hoping to join her before or after. See you in April!
