This large bronze equestrian statue on Rokin Street in Amsterdam shows Queen Wilhelmina as a young queen.
It was created by Theresia Reiniera van der Pant (1924 – 2013), a Dutch sculptor, under commission by the Amsterdam Contact Group of Women’s Organisations and was unveiled in 1972.

I know nothing of the Queen but from the angle you have taken the photo – looking up into her face – she shows a kind of superior, though not hostile, elegance. While the eyes of the horse have a surprising gentleness.
