Berlin from Above

a1_20150602_20150602__DSC0046_6000 x 4000-Look Up, Look Down Challenge, Week 91

Every Thursday, I publish a post containing photos taken from above or below, and invite you to join in the challenge by posting your own images with an up or down perspective.

Hot off the press (the photos) and just off a delayed plane (me!) , here are some views of Berlin.

I first visited Berlin back in 1980 and I’ve been back 2 or 3 times since the Wall came down, but there is always something new to see in this city that is still being rebuilt.  This trip, I was lucky enough to get up inside the glass dome of the Reichstag.  I’ll show you the building itself in another post – it is so stunning it deserves a post of its own – but for now, please enjoy the views with me.

And to finish, here is a quick look back up at the entrance to the Reichstag.

  1. I was in Berlin in 1988 and then again just after the wall came down. I found some of my photos the other day and realised a lot of what I had taken photos of doesn’t exist anymore. One in particular is Checkpoint Charlie.

  2. Berlin is one of the most interesting big cities I know, especially now E-Berlin is added to it! I can never forget Berlin, because it was my first year of marriage, I gave up my desperate attempts to study German, and my oldest daughter was born there.
