This is one of my favourite photos from a trip to Berlin earlier this year. These simple blocks of varying sizes make a striking memorial to this tragic period in European history. And they make a great photographic subject too.
I have kept my edits to a minimum – just the usual straightening and sharpening, and a little adjustment to exposure. I’m looking forward to working with this image – what can I achieve whilst respecting the simplicity of this image?

Agree with everyone else, stark, powerful, and moving. Looking forward to the future edits.

what a stark and powerful image, so fitting for this memorial. I wonder where you will take it next.

I think this image has already reached its peak in the challenge. the minimalist approach which fits the memorial perfectly. Really nice.

Love the simplicity of this edit. It doesn’t even look like a photograph; it’s more like a work of art.

What can you achieve being creative but still keeping the stark simplicity – I have no idea but I will keep an eye out 🙂

I find myself almost wordless with this one. A poignant reminder of history.
