The Swedish flag is blue and yellow, or perhaps dandelion and cornflower – particpating in Jennifer’s challenge based on Crayola’s current 120 crayon colours has encouraged me to make wider use of colour names.

The blue and yellow colours carry over into the Royal Post and its post boxes, and even into wigs!

#fddb6d color imageA colourful note:  the term dandelion for this lovely yellow shade obviously comes from the colour of the dandelion flower.  Interesting to me (as it had never occurred to me before) is that dandelion comes from the French for “lion’s tooth” – dent de lion.  So obvious now I know!
