A colourful note:  vivid violet appeared as a new Crayola shade in 1997, a vary busy  crayon year.  The company introduced a fair number of new names and new shades, and also gathered various crayons into special sets.  One of the 1997 sets was known as “Special Brightest” – most of the crayons in the 24 box were existing colours, but there were four new ones with fancy labels and vivid violet was one of these (the other three were caribbean green, pink flamingo and sunset orange)

  1. What a wonderful shot, Debbie! Some of the crayola colour names are quite poetic 🙂
