Western Camarguais exhibition, Arles, France, August 2016
There has been an international summer photography festival in Arles since 1970. Rencontres d’Arles features well known photographers plus inspiring newcomers, in around 50 exhibitions spread across this ancient city.
The exhibition featured above, features the wild horses of the Camargue and their appearance in Western films since the early 20th century. These beautiful white animals made their first screen appearance in 1905 and contributed to the district’s popularity with horse loving tourists.
