View from North Berwick to Bass Rock,  Scotland,  August 2016

North Berwick makes a great day trip from Edinburgh.  It’s an attractive, welcoming town with great watery views and is home to the Scottish Seabird Centre.  The island in clear view, is a white rock, coloured by the the large colony of gannets (and their excrement) who make this place their home.  In summer, you can join a boat trip out to this and other islands – highly recommended by a slightly soggy me, who made the trip recently.
