Le Jardin des Plantes,  Montpellier,  France,  October 2016

The Montpellier Botanical Garden is one of the oldest in Europe, created by order of Henri IV in 1593.   It acted as a model for all other botanical gardens in France, including the one in Paris 40 years later. It is now the property of the University of Montpellier I, and is classified as a Historical Monument and Protected Site.

A colourful note: neon carrot was a 1990 creation for Crayola.  In that year they renamed many of their fluorescent colours, removing the term fluorescent from the names and adding some new colours, of which neon carrot was one.  In Europe, the term neon was deemed unsuitable and the same shade was known as fiery orange.
