But they also speak Russian and I dragged a bit of that out of hibernation. This year is the 40th anniversary of starting Russian at uni! Sadly the 40 years have led to almost total loss of that language.

I felt as though I’d lost a heal – I had wandered the back streets for some time in search of the Winter Palace. No palace found, but I got this shot and a couple of others that I like.
A lunch break provided extra energy and I eventually found the palace. Worth the effort!
