Under the cypress tree

Jardim do Príncipe Real,  Lisbon,  May 2017

The shade of this cedar from Buçaco, actually a 100 year old Mexican cypress tree, is one of the best places to sit in Lisbon. Simply rest and people watch, or grab a book and chill.  If you’re in need of sustenance, there are a couple of kiosks nearby and an excellent cafe just across the park.

  1. Whoa, this is an amazing sight. I love the dappled sunlight and that it is a gathering place. Great find!! Thank you for sharing.

  2. I know this square very well, right next to it there is an entrance to one of the branches of the “Aqueduto das Águas Livres”, the majestic stone chamber that forms the Patriarchal Reservoir lies underground, beneath the Príncipe Real square.
