This week, I clambered the 311 steps to the top of The Monument in the City of London. It was for a delightful evening arranged by 5×15, with two talented speakers entertaining and educating us at the bottom, middle and top of the Monument.
An evening I will definitely repeat.

Vertigo !!!!! but a nice pic.

Good even steps and solid handrail so my vertigo was ok. My only problem was too many of those steps!

That brought back memories. The monument was more or less in my back yard (Bethnal Green) and I had climbed it often.

It was my first time – I’ve walked past it many times but never got round to climbing. Great views 🙂

What a wonderful spiral! I never managed the time to visit, and I obviously missed a treat.
