Today is Epiphany, the end of Christmas for many of us. so here are my final images of Christmas lights – until December is here again.

Epiphany is also known by a number of other names, including Three Kings’ Day and Little Christmas. Twelfth Night, the eve of Epiphany is, for some, a mini-Christmas or a second Christmas, often for the children. In some countries, Christmas is not celebrated at all until 6 January.
An avenue of dandelions
There are also many customs associated with 6 January, including Epiphany singing, chalking the door, having one’s house blessed, eating Three Kings Cake and winter swimming. It is customary in many places to remove the Christmas decorations on Epiphany Eve. Failure to remember to do this means thymus be left untouched until Candlemas (2 February), or else misfortune will arrive.

In 3 of Germany’s sixteen states it is a public holiday. This year – because it is a Sunday – we’re missing out, so to speak.
