Любовь зла, полюбишь и козла
Lyubov’ zla, polyubish’ i kozla

I’m trying to pull my Russian back out of extinction, so that I can use it on a couple of trips I’m hoping to make. And in the process I found this great saying: “Love is so cruel, you could fall in love with a goat”.
Now I’ve got nothing against goats, especially the cute, shaggy ones I came across in Oman, but in Russian slang a goat refers to a dead-beat man.

I wonder what the male – female equivalent would be. I like your goats Debbie 🙂

Love the first pic with the huge spiky rock in the backdrop! As if now love is just spiky blind 🙃

Well goats I could fall in love with, especially these . . . but now know not to say that to a Russian!
