I grew up next to Brick Lane, a turning off Bethnal Green Road and would often visit the Sunday morning market with my dad. It was the fifties, and not so interesting with all the murals and painted doors, but it had its own charm. It was just different, we were all cockneys from the area.

There’s a lot going on in all these photos. And I like the red in the last shot.

Yes. I always line being nosey and peering into barbers. This one was well decorated with art on the door window.

Awesome stuff. As someone else said some of these have a fun comic book vibe to them. Nice finds 🙂

Your photos read almost like a comic book yet I’m not certain of the storyline…I am certain the story is bold and full of action. Very pretty doors!

It’s still a great area – I’ve wandered there on a Sunday morning. But different I’m sure – coffee stalls for one thing.

It’s a great part of London to wander and enjoy the art – some mad, some fun, some serious, some clever, some beautiful.
