I discovered this bright and colourful mural in June on a huge expanse of legal street art walls in Barcelona. Enjoy it here, as when I went past the following day it was being painted over by another artist.

All street art is temporary…catch it while you can, and glad you got this one. I’m off for a snoop around Shoreditch on Wednesday..,,

I’ll be at Euston, doing the photography version of the Euston tour you told me about.

I agree it is temporary but still – what a shame to be painted over!

I agree. And the new artist is a grumpy one!

What a pity they were being painted over as they are bright and fabulous. I wonder why the Chinese symbols when neither of the artists seems to have an Asian name.
Thanks for contributing Debbie.

I wondered about that too – I’ve no idea! Yes, it was a shame to see it go, and I think it only survived a few months.

Seriously? Why would another artist paint over someone else’s work?

That’s the way street art works – it is temporary. Some walls are private and the works are commissioned, but on open walls it’s usually up for grabs.

I get that street art is temporal – I just never thought that one might paint over someone else’s work. While I say this, I realise that lots of age-old frescos do just this. That you for yet another post that sparks memory and much reflection.
