Stan Laurel was added to the decorations on the outside of the Clutha Bar in 2015, by street artist Art Pistol. Laurel was born in Lancashire, but grew up in Glasgow, where his father managed Glasgow’s Metropole Theatre. Sadly, the mural has suffered badly in the Scottish weather.

It’s always sad when street art doesn’t survive the conditions, but I rather like the very distressed look.

Yes, street art can look great with a touch of decay. I fear this one may not last much longer, but I’m sure the pub will arrange something to replace it.
