Illuminating the plight of plastic overload

Lactolight by Jack Wimperis, Winter Lights, Canary Wharf, London, January 2020

Jack Wimperis created this light extravaganza using 7,344 recycled plastic milk bottles. Each bottle effectively became an individual pixel in a giant low-res video screen. Cages are filled with plastic bottles, each of which has an LED embedded inside. These cages can then be put together in different ways to create light sculptures, appearing in circle form at this year’s Winter Lights at Canary Wharf.
