Regent Street, London, 16 March 2020
In the UK we have been very slow to bring in restrictions on movement and social mixing. In London yesterday, it was quiet but many were still at work and a few were shopping. Apple stores were one of the first to close down, though staff were still on site to help their customers remotely. Many other shops have joined in now, as have theatres and restaurants. We still haven’t moved into total lockdown, but most people are now limiting their mixing.
For me, yesterday was my last day of in-person business meetings for some time, and I was amazed to see an empty Apple shop. The added confusion of reflections in the day’s bright sunshine seemed to go well with how everyone is feeling at the moment.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Lovely surreal photos that capture the feel of the streets so well. Look after yourself, Debbie. I think you’ll be hunting through your archives a lot more for a while.

I am sure I will. But I have hundreds to still edit, so I might at least get organised 🙂

Very surreal. The reflections capture that quite well.

Closed down here as well. But borders not, and the small children still go to school. I agree, too many unknowns. Eerie and surreal. Even if this was expected to happen someday, it is the pace, the force that scares me. It’s like living in a movie. Stay safe.

We are all handling it slightly differently – we still have schools open too, though I think they may close at the end of this week.

It will come to that here as well. And each country must handle it according to their particular situation.

Exactly! A sort of puzzlement. But that soon turns to mistrust and fear, Debs. It’s not a comfortable feeling.

It is very difficult – too many unknowns, in particular the amount of time that this will last.

Closings are commonplace now in many parts of the States. Stay safe!
