This fascinating mural adorns the front of an old fire station in Barreiro in Portugal.
The Volunteer Firemen Association of the Caminhos de Ferro do Sul e Sueste (Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários dos Caminhos de Ferro do Sul e Sueste), founded in July 1894, had its headquarters here until 2008.

In 2015, the Association for the Development of Arts and Crafts (ADAO) was created and has taken over the premises for their active community of artists, providing workspace, educational workshops and exhibitions.

Yes, the place has lost a lot of its industry but there is a push now to both convert and renovate some of their old buildings. The youth and arts seem heavily involved in this.
