Swimming pool at Olympic Stadium, Berlin, October 2019

Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own olympic post. We should have had the Tokyo Olympics close to opening, but in this year of delays and cancellations, I thought we’d honour it with a week of olympic posts – as wild an interpretation of that as you like.
To join the challenge, please use pingback by putting a link in your post to the URL of this post, allowing others to have the opportunity to visit and join the challenge. Then come back here and leave us a comment.
If you have any problems with linking via pingback, just add your own URL into your comment.

Thanks to everyone who brought us some drama last week. Big thanks go to Brian for a great array of natural drama; to Robert for some dramatic silhouettes; to Tom for his slightly ominous drama; and to Little Pieces of Me for the stunning equine shot.

I was almost at a loss for what to use, but then my Olympic medals came to mind. 🙂

I have a friend that was to film the Tokyo Olympics this summer and planned on taking her 17 year son with her, so she is upset.

Very disappointing. I’m not surprised she’s upset – what an opportunity!

No, but an excellent take on the theme – how had I not thought of that interpretation?!

Wonderful composition. I guess it is still used but you had early entry?
Here is my contribution. The second picture was a late addition after I came across the sign for the gym which I just had to share: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/06/21/olympic-sports-vs-muscle-factory/

Yes, it is still open to the public apparently but not when I was there. This view is from the main Olympic stadium, which is open to the public as long as ether aren’t any events on.

Hi Debbie Fab photos I love the structural lines and hues of gold and turquoise. I should have waited again to have my second cup of coffee this morning- because I have gone off on a tangent and my brain has associated Pool with your Olympic prompt! So have posted Pool of Light- so sorry:( I must take more time to think before I post in future after making a similar gaff yesterday. Anyway I will leave the incorrect post now I have posted it with apologies to you. 🙂 Caryl

Don’t worry Caryl, I really don’t mind. I’m just happy to prompt something. When I first started the challenge the idea was that people could use their own single word but everyone used mine and that’s the way it has developed. Feel free to go as wild as you like 😁

Your photo is slightly more ‘Olympic’ than my entry this week, Debbie… I am stretching the theme once again! https://wp.me/sVkLb-olympic

Very cool. I doubt I have anything this week, but love yours!

Yes I’ve been a bit selfish in the theme selection this week. Do fee free to interpret randomly as I always enjoy your images, Dawn.

Lots of nice lines here, Deborah. Hopefully your weekend’s going well. As usual, I’ll see you soon, sooner than Iike in that I can’t sleep as long as I’d like in the morning. 🙂
