Masked

Masks during COVID-19 lockdown in London, June 2020

Apologies for missing out last week’s quotation – it was a busy week and I completely forgot! But now, it is definitely time for a almost-weekly quotation-inspired image.

If the quote inspires a pictorial or wordy post from you, do feel free to link in or to pop your URL in the comments.

  1. I like the use of the old wwII slogan. It’s one that has continued plagued translators because it is so poignant.
I think I was triggered after last weeks enforced quotation abstinence (no blame! we all have actual lives … or at least we should): https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/07/01/are-you-hiding/
I also changed the title afterwards and I am too lazy to trash the whole blog and do it again only to get the link worded correctly.

  2. There are many images reflecting on the CV situation… Many very moving. Just hope that something really positive and lasting can be done as a record of this time in history and a warning of the tragedy and the stupidities. But also highlighting the many individual triumphs and sacrifices

    1. Yes, there are already quite a few posters out there expressing thanks to people. I think we’ll be able to rely on some of our street artists to help us all think more carefully and deeply. I keep hoping we are all going to learn from the virus (and then things like Bournemouth wipe my hope)

      1. Bournemouth was a ‘low’light of our current….but our local parks are continually being trashed with litter of all types just dumped. The council and volunteers are working very hard but it just seems like a loosing battle. Why is the question…. have these ‘litter louts’ had a brain removal in lockdown….. it is beyond understanding. WE have seen the best in folk and at times also the worst. It a minority they say who cause these anti-social problems but it certainly is a large minority . Sad.
