
View along the River Couesnon to Mont St Michel, France, July 2020

There is always some water to be found around Mont St Michel, even when tides are low. The dam on the River Couesnon provides a great view to Mont St Michel, and also acts a silt remover from the bay. It traps the waters at high tide and then releases them at speed at low tide.

Yes, it’s a wonderful place that pops up wherever you wander – popped in the corner of a bay you can walk miles and still get that view 🙂
