Fantastic shots, Debbie 👏 As soon as I saw your title I knew what I’d be seeing. I use to hear the word snicket a lot growing up in North Yorkshire 😃

Can’t beat a good ginnel or snicket. I didn’t think you southern types knew about them,

🙂 🙂 I’m a southern immigrant! Northerner by birth, Midlander by upbringing, Welsh by parentage!

I loved learning how the “close” alleys came to be, and what they were used for, when we visited Edinburgh last summer. Fascinating!
Love your photos! ❤️🦋🌀

Thank you! I’m always pleased when someone enjoys them.
Photography is a great calming pastime, allowing escape from the outside world into a world of camera and lens, and it’s great if an image can also pass on some escape.

I love these old, narrow lanes – and all of the old names for them! In Nottinghamshire they would be called a jitty/gitty.

Something I didn’t know! My daughter lives in Nottingham. Richmond in Yorkshire is a great place for them too 🙂 🙂
