Picnics are extremely popular in England at the moment, despite the changeable weather – relaxing of lockdown means that picnics are now allowed. And this couple were making the most of it with a barbecue at the base of the Angel of the North

Well spotted! There’s a mild breeze, judging from the smoke, so I hope they stayed warm enough.

They are used to the cold up there.
I was there to collect a puppy from breeder and he doesn’t;t feel the cold. He wanders the garden in our arctic-driven cold spell, while I wear jumpers and coats and still shiver!

🙂 Puppies have too much energy to feel the cold! 🙂 I miss my dogs.

That is true! WE haven’t had a dog for many years, so it’s wonderful to have one in our home again

Weird picnic place. I have to confess, I never liked the angel

I´ve seen this on telly. Auf Wiedersehen, Pet-tv-series from early 2000´s.

It has done well so far. There’s a lot of engineering as well as art in that sculpture. It was completed in 1998

Great to see so many folk enjoying more of the fresh air and freedom we have been “granted”….. just wish that the thoughtless minority would take their litter and empties home with them. Sorry to sound grumpy but that minority seems to be getting larger. But a big smile as the sun is shining 🙂

I know what you mean, David. I event seen any of that mess in person, but I’ve seen it on the news. Sadly the pandemic seems to excuse all sorts of thoughtless behaviour
