I remember the old airport in Hong Kong where you flew in and you could look right into the windows of apartments just like the ones in your photo. That was back in the early 80s.

Yes. I remember that too. Shame I wasn’t into photography back then. The end of the old runway is now a cruise terminal. And they are building a massive skyscraper on the old airport site. It will be called Airside

And what happens when you drop the washing from the top floor?

I think it might not fall far – it would attach to a line below! Clothes never to be seen again – or until you bump into someone wearing them!
