Oh,no. I only had one shot that I found relatively quickly and it’s also a sun dial. 😦

Nice photo, Debbie… 2 o’clock, I make it? I’m hopeless with sundials.

Spot on, I reckon, Tom. Well done.
And I enjoyed your flit back in time. Some things last forever don’t they!

Like the way it seems to divide the clouds in the sky https://alondonmiscellany.wordpress.com/2021/06/06/time/

That sort of thing depends how patient I feel and whether I’m on my own. Waiting for the clouds to be in the right spot can make a big difference to the feel of the image

I searched and searched for my sundial photo to no avail. So I took the next option which people now-a-days see when encountering a sundial 🙂

I loved it. It’s how I often feel.

I liked your mix, Sue. And the Palace is at the end of the park you’ll enter through next time, so maybe you can catch it then 🙂

I learned how to make an accurate sun dial many years ago, if I recall correctly the angled piece that casts the shadow is a gnomon although I’ve no idea if that spelling is even remotely close.
I went with a different take on the prompt:

Oh, that must be a fascinating thing to learn. I might investigate!
And I loved your take on time

You need to know the latitude that the sundial will be used at the get the angle needed for the gnomon. I drew up the plans and my father made one out of brass. It was surprisingly accurate.

The slightly out of focus palace in the background is fabulous!

Glad you like it Maria
I might go and play a bit more next time. Maybe a wider lens as I’d have liked a fuller view of the sundial.
