That’s probably true for anyone who arrives by road, sadly. And even by train years ago as there was a station at Ibla , now closed.

Gorgeous views. Reminds me of some of the cities we visited when my s-i-l lived in Provence and cities we saw while watching the Vuelta Espana.

Yes, it’s very Southern European. But that bit more extreme – narrower, steeper, more Baroque

They didn’t think so!
I think a combination of heat and hills gave me very stiff and sore calf muscles. Maybe worsened by the full camera bag! I actually stood at this viewpoint wondering wether to just enjoy that view and then head back to the train. But you’ll see tomorrow that it was worth carrying on 😉

Ouch – and of course none of us are used to walking still. MrB and I suspect we will suffering the same in our first few weeks back walking in the Algarvian hills – although they are not as steep or as hot as what you had. So glad you kept going though – what an achievement
