Getting ready for a rescue mission, Margate RNLI, Kent, January 2022
Both Margate boats were dispatched to support Whitstable RNLI and the Coastguard Rescue Teams from Margate and Herne Bay to rescue someone who had been trapped on a beach in a spring tide. The rescue was successful.
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

…
In an era, especially these last few years, when negative and even mean and nasty news takes up most of the headlines, it’s a good reminder that there are many people and organizations out there doing good and caring.
I’ve gone tongue in cheek (or food in mouth?) today with a title that perhaps doesn’t represent the original intent of the creator.

There are folks out there who do remarkable things for others

It’s hard to heap too much praise and appreciation on the brave volunteers who ‘man’ our rescue stations.
Having just experienced some Welsh storm-battered shores from landward side, the thought of going ‘out there’ is too alarming.

It would have been scary going out on some of those seas you showed, Debs!

Indeed. I had just walked back to here to get to street level as I couldn’t get along the promenade without getting very wet. And they couldn’t rescue the stranded man by boat as it was too wild for them to get to him against the cliff. So the coastguarders climbed down to him in the end. While the boats stood by in case.

Scary stuff. But they handle it so calmly and professionally.

I know. So matter-of-fact about it all. I wouldn’t want to be the partner of one of them either. I’d just worry too much.

They are incredible the RNLI. We are so lucky to have them.

Yes. This rescue was a good example of how much they do. We often think of boat rescues but this was just someone who misjudged his walk on the beach.

When I was buying a few things from them at Christmas I discovered their busiest station is Tower Lifeboats in London, followed by Chiswick!
