I read it for myself. I am a fan of picture books. And then, the German publishers of The Gruffalo are in our small town. So there is that.

I love these different owl interpretations, but that first one definitely has an odd expression. He looks so surprised he’s an owl!

He does look a little surprised. Perhaps he has just seen the Gruffalo approaching.
