Warner Bros filming Wonka! in St Albans, Hertfordshire, March 2022
and set under construction (click for larger view):

Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

Hi Debbie
Filming Wonka there? You find the most fun and fascinating things to share!
And am I ever embarrassed. Not only am I tardy in commenting on your great 6WS post, I also misspelled Smythe! (Which has now been corrected.) Years ago, I had a great boss who’s surname was “Stith.” He had to regularly send out a memo (yes an actual “memo” in those days before email) reminding people it was “Stith. Not Smitt. Not Smith. Not Smythe.” You must feel the same at times?
Here’s my Six on Saturday offering:
Best,

I’m always late doing things on the blog, so no worries, Basje.
And the misspellings don’t bother me either. I just find it quite amusing. “Smith with a y” as I usually have to explain my name, was the common way of spelling back in the day, especially in Scotland and Ireland. Nowadays, a lot of people view it as a posh Smith, and adding an e to Smythe makes it posher still.
And I have to sympathise with Mr Stith 🙂

Mr Wonka didn’t bothered to handover the chocolates?
This is so not fair, sir!

Cool… I quite like having a quick peek behind the scenes, Debbie, even if I don’t actually see the movie…
I have a rambling six words this week… https://wp.me/pVkLb-5O1

Any idea what the film’s about? Should be interesting as things progress.

It is the prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Wonka before he met Charlie.
They have also filmed in Oxford, Lyme Regis and Bath. Due to be released in spring 2023. I’ll definitely watch it to spot St Albans, and some other great British locations.

Great shot, Debbie 👏 If it rains any more, it might have to be a remake of Waterworld ☔️ Here’s mine: https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/03/05/suns-out-but-not-for-long/

Absolutely 🙂 Their artificial snow had a bit of a battle with the rain

Jez, for some reason I can’t get the comment box to take my comment so here it is. Yeah, I can see the hedgehog but here in Arizona we’re more likely to say there are some clouds, but not for long. 🙂 Sorry for clogging up your feed, Debbie, but I did want to comment.

It looks like a swamp but hopefully the mud will soon dry out.

Swamp is a perfect description, Jo. They laid temporary flooring across much of they swamp for access to the film site, but even that is now covered in mud.

The cathedral dominates the landscape from this viewpoint. I must take time to visit next time I’m on the area. Seems like an all star cast, you might get the opportunity to snap a few celebs. 🙂 https://alondonmiscellany.wordpress.com/2022/03/05/the-air-is-alive-with-music/

I didn’t spot any and not sure who was in that part of the film. Timothée Chalamet was definitely there, but I didn’t see him. The area was well blocked! And do say if you come over – I know the places for coffee and beer!
