Regular companions in the River Ver, St Albans, August 2023 (taken on iPhone)
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

What if that heron has seen a dog in the water for the very first time?

He seems very happy and contender there.

Debbie that dog looks like it having a wonderful time cavorting in the water. The heron appears to look at the dog with curiosity. Thank you for hosting. http://makingthedayscount.org/2023/08/05/arch-rock-created-slowly-over-time/

Glad you enjoyed it. My dog is addicted to the water. The difficult part is getting him to come out!

Whilst the rain is great, making our landscape lush and vibrant- please can we have some sunshine too? Here is my 6WS- https://carylbeach.art/2023/08/05/rain-rain-go-away-its-summer/
Love the serene crane and very lively dog- you found a moment of no rain in the park 🙂 Hope Sunday is brighter here. Have a great weekend.

I agree about the weather. Oh for at least a few days of summer! It started off well this morning but the clouds have rolled in now.

It is really funny to see the contrast of “personalities” 😀

Are they indeed regular companions? Our local herons don’t care for dogs – or humans.

I think it’s one of the youngsters. But it is surprisingly chilled. It flies in each afternoon when Inka is already in the water. Yesterday it decided to merge and come really close. Inka stopped and looked at it. Ball in mouth! And the heron backed off a little. And then they both went back to normal!

The dog looks so happy and the heron a bit confused 🙂

Yes. I doubt all the splashing was helping the heron catch fish!

Great photo. The Heron is perplexed.
Well done making a heading that I had no way of doing a duplicate with a twist. I had a go though in a way 🙂

Pretty relaxed heron. I wouldn’t have expected that.
