Thanks to everyone who sent us counterfeit last week. This was quite a challenging topic and a lot of response were some form of tromp l’ceil.
Special thanks go to Caryl for her fun cat-counterfeits; and to Steve for a charming and very convincing counterfeit in London.
If you didn’t have chance to check out everyone’s offerings, the links are below. Why not grab a coffee now and go blog exploring.
Next week’s theme will be world.

Great shot! My post has a window and two reflections of the window, one of which is on an interior window. https://webcroft.blogspot.com/2023/09/yesterday-in-leesburg.html

As Margaret says, crystal clear! It reminds me that we were sitting watching an open air Fado concert the other day. We had our backs to a window, sitting on the window ledge because all seats were taken. After a few minutes a man came up to us and showed us a photo he had taken from inside. I would have liked to keep it but I was too surprised!

Oh, shame you didn’t get a copy. Might you bump into them again? I take a lot of “snap” photos on my iPhone these days and the airdrop them to people.

I don’t think so. He was using a ‘proper’ camera, Debs. I hadn’t thought when we sat down but we were on the outside of a tourist facility- a water pump- and he must have been inspecting it and looked up. And there we were. Funny old world!

What is behind frosted glass? Great photo Debbie. Net curtains and frosted glass are a good combination 🙂
Mine are more distinct. Found on a tourist walk around town with my mate last week.

You’d have enjoyed one of my walks around Arles this summer where all I seem to notice was net curtains.
And I enjoyed your lobby shot, Brian. Nosy, without really being nosy.

Isn’t it funny. You noticed one net curtain and then by chance another and then it was on. Maybe that can be their next tourist slogan. “Arles – the net curtain capital of France” 😁
