It was a lovely temple and on my walk back to the hotel that evening I was delighted to see the lights and greenery. I have to say much of Kyoto is overwhelmed by tourists, and some streets are now actually closed to tourists, but there is plenty more to see

It was a surprise to find this – this part of the street had had stands promoting horse racing earlier in the day, with a very convincing horse robot
