Sanatorium Shakhtiori, Tskaltubo, Georgia, October 2024
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

Beautiful layers. To follow your lead, my post would be Peeling back many layers of bark… https://fakeflamenco.com/2024/11/16/details-the-wood-for-the-trees/

Yes! Fascinating and a surprise as wasn’t officially part of the trip. We got inside the old station where the trains from Moscow used to arrive, and then managed to get into 2 of the old sanatoria. I could have spent a few days there.

You will 🙂
My laptop is soooo slow at the moment that my editing is taking forever. But I’ll share them eventually. One today, for architecture.

I see what you did there … you changed your title. I’m happy about it, made it easier for me.
In addition to the historical layers the shapes also offer themselves to “cloud” reading: I see a person with a hoody drawn over their face, I see a fish with teeth, I see a torso of a statue, I see a complaining face, …

I did. I was struggling to fit what I wanted to say in 6 words.
Oh my. I clearly need to let my imagination flow

Like the ring on a tree, those shreds of wall paper and paint could tell a few stories of times they have witnessed. Here is my link for this weeks 6WS: https://davidoakes-images.com/2024/11/16/6ws-6-word-saturday-challenge-26/

Yes. I would love to here them. Some of relaxation on mandatory health holidays in the Soviet days. Others less positive with refugees from the Abhazia war in the early 90s being housed in these decaying buildings.

That shot suggests this sanatorium has lots of stories to tell.

I reckon so. It was used by party officials but also by general public. A 2 week mandatory holiday for all. But no revelling – they were there for “medical relaxation” and to think about socialism!
