The Ginza, Tokyo

The bright and vibrant Ginza area, in Tokyo, is one of the best places in the world for luxury shopping.

Ginza (銀座?) is a district of Chūō, Tokyo and is named for the silver mint that occupied the site in the 17th and 18th centuries.  It is now home to brands such as Gucci, Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton.

If you intend to visit, a Saturday afternoon makes a sensible choice; the area is closed to traffic making your shopping that little bit easier and more peaceful.
