Summer in the Light

“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.”
–Charles Dickens

Dickens captures a British March day perfectly in this quote and this Sunday was just one of those days.  It was gloriously hot in the sun, but still chilly in the shade.

Crowds flocked to any open space they could find.  Summer clothes were hauled out of cupboards, sunglasses were dragged out of drawers, white flesh was exposed to the sun and winter garments were discarded willy nilly.
