Baku has had two oil-wealthy periods in recent history which has resulted in an impressive modern skyline. The centre featured here is large and in a huge open space, but a bit out of the centre.
Temporary or permanent – who cares! It is an amazing piece of architecture and so crisp against that blue sky. The snail is cool. And I don’t often say THAT about snails…
Most of that looks rather permanent to me, but my visit is only temporary. 🙂 Love the curve of that building, but I’m glad I’ve never met a real snail that size!!

A lot of your photos from Azerbaijan seem so grand, they seem to utilize a lot of space (and maybe lucky to have it).

Fabulous, Debs! My battery’s gone and I don’t want to wake ‘him upstairs’ so I’ll come back later. 🙂 🙂

The shadow and the reflections aren’t so permanent. Nor the snail for that matter, though I think he’s been there a while!

🙂 It’s a cool shot anyway, Debbie. I guess I was just looking at the big parts of the photo.

Yes the temp bits are rather small! And No offence taken. Sorry if I sounded stroppy in return.

I really didn’t mean my comment to sound critical; I just focused on the permanent. It’s all good. And I’ve always loved the word “stroppy.” 🙂
