Giants and Big Heads in Barcelona

During the summer months, Catalan towns brim with festivals.  Giants and big-heads (gegants i capgrossos) make their grand appearance  along with human castles, fireworks, correfocs (fire run), all accompanied by dancing and general exuberance.  The not-to-miss festival in Barcelona is La Mercè, held in September.
