Birds of a Feather?

Blue Tit urban art, Manchester

I came across this glorious, giant blue tit on a recent stroll around the Northern Quarter in Manchester, England.

Giant Blue Tit Mural, Newton Street, Manchester

This magnificent mural graces the wall of a listed building alongside a derelict plot, now used as a carpark.  This design by Sheffield-based Faunagraphic was painted over three days in November 2011, in collaboration with partner Rocket01 and with help from Manchester graffiti artist Ruse.

Watch probably the largest blue tit in the world coming to life:

The mural was commissioned by Converse – you can see the star of the Converse logo in the bottom right corner.

  1. Looks like people were thinking birds and Manchester this week. Like I said on Gerald’s post, it’s good to see different perspectives of the same piece. And we got a little more information about this fantastic mural. Thanks for contributing to this week’s Monday Mural.
